The #1 Tip that made playing chords easier for me was when I....

Quit trying to read & play the melody line in the right hand and started playing simple chords in the right hand instead!
When I started paying close attention to other people playing chords, I saw a common thread. They were mostly playing chords in the right hand and a simple bass in the left hand.   I really feel this is the number one reason people give up trying to play chords.  Most people start by trying to play the melody in the right hand and the chords in the left hand.  I have found this to be more difficult for most students when they are starting out, especially when trying to sing and play at the same time!  When a voice or instrument is carrying the melody, the pianist doesn't need to!
Once I made this switch, it was like night and day for me!  Later, I learned to add the melody when I needed to, but I started out just getting comfortable with the chords in the right hand. Then I added bass notes in the left hand.
In "Chords Made Simple", I am going to take you step by step using small building blocks, to give you these same tools.

  • You don’t have a lot of time for piano lessons – These lessons are only 10 minutes each!
  • You haven’t had piano lessons before – I’m going to go slowly enough for beginners too!
  • You are scared to play in front of people – You can go at your own pace in the privacy of your own home! You can repeat lessons as many times as necessary!​
​I am inviting you right into my studio as if you were there with my students and me!  You will be able to join in on actual students’ lessons exactly as they happened in real time…no prior practice, no “several takes”.  The lessons are all real time footage.  Of course, I edited the length for time’s sake but we did not rehearse and then take the perfect shot.  You will feel VERY comfortable with mistakes and all!
