Making Eternal Light
"To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time." Leonard Bernstein
If you ever get a chance, be sure to ask my wonderful husband how long I've wanted to compose instrumental music. He can tell you, perhaps better than I can, how many times I’ve mentioned it over the years, how many attempts I’ve made to coax parts of songs from my mind, how many incomplete melodies lived on scraps of paper around the house. Playing music was my passion, but writing it was my wildest dream.
I was privileged to meet with Beaufort musician, Robert Morris, to get his advice about composing. One of the best things he told me was to finish one song—just one—and get it to the point that I could actually hand a piece of music to someone in its completion. For me, that song was “Little Nocturne."
His advice was exactly what I needed to hear, and it helped me channel all of my energy and inspiration into truly productive creativity. I have been writing songs for my own enjoyment ever since. Enough people kept asking for a recording that my wildest dream became a vision—a collection of compositions that I could share with anyone whose souls were in need of God’s peace, grace, and inspiration.
Thanks to the amazing, multi-talented Eric Terlizzi, that vision has become a reality. Eric—who has several recordings of his own beautiful music (check it out)—was able to take my melodies and our orchestration ideas into the studio and create magic from them. I am so grateful.
These songs have lived in the peaceful shadows of my mind for many years, and have emerged thanks to the inspiration and help I have received from loved ones, mentors, and the Holy Spirit. I pray that they will bring peace and joy to your soul.
Please enjoy and share my debut EP, Eternal Light.
