What Is It About Faces?

Covid has made us keenly aware of the need for each other’s full presence in our lives.
Just what is it about a face?  Even though “the eyes are the window to the soul”, haven’t we missed seeing one another’s faces?  Haven’t we missed seeing the smiles, the laughs, the kisses… the full human expression of communication from one heart to another?
Labor Day weekend, we experienced the joy of seeing our son, his wife, and their three children for the first time in 6 months!  We took advantage of NC parks reopening and met at a fun park half way between their city and ours.
As they approached the meet up, my 2 yr old granddaughter asked, “Mommy, what does Grandmama look like?”  Isn’t that precious?  Even though we have face timed throughout Covid, she must have sensed that seeing me in person was going to feel different.  She would experience my “presence”, not just my two dimensional face.
Most of you know my mother died when I was very young.  My sister remembers being asked, “What do you miss the most about your mother?”  Her words today…
"I would always say, I miss her face.  In the original Greek New Testament, "face" means "presence", so when I told people I missed Mom’s face (it was beautiful), I was really saying I missed her presence. Presence validates one’s worth, so when we experience God’s presence in our lives, we receive validation as His son or daughter.”
“Your Presence” is the only vocal composition I have recorded.  It really does express my greatest desire, for people to experience the presence of the Lord through my music because, as the song says... His presence changes everything.

All your music pulls at my heartstrings. Any chance of sheet music with lyrics so I can sing too?
Delighted to get this. Miss hugs and spontaneous laughter. I'm fortunate to see family even if it's a distance between my porch and a car.and sometimes a separated meal on a porch. On occasion joining the distanced family through Zoom which is an amaizing tech gift for these days. Thank you again for your talented gift to all of us. Cissy .

Love your blog as always. This is truly a song of hope, love, peace and all that the Lord has to for those who will come. I would love for it to be played over so many hurting places throughout our nation and the world today; we need his healing touch!
